Limiting belief system

Is it a limited belief to believe that we all have limiting belief? I would say not, I believe we are all aware of a belief that with live in a world of finite things. Is this why we apply this understand to out belief system?

The only thing we should be limited by our own beliefs. Over the past few years, I have read a number of books that say we have unlimited power, we have the ability to change anything, the biological structure of our cells, the path our life is taking, the relationships we have, our own intentions. The most fascinating thing about all these books, is even the authors themselves cannot believe what they have found. And that is my point no matter how much we learn that the pie is bigger than we think, and our potential is greater then we have told ourselves it is, even when science is on our side and experiment after experiment shows us we can be limitless, we limit ourselves.

Is it because of comfort? In a limited world we feel comfortable, we get to know the variables and the limits, and we feel safe there, so that is where we retreat. That in some limited way makes sense. There a belief system is formed that in its own way is limiting.

Are we afraid of a limited existence? Do we not trust ourselves with our own power? Why if they have shown over and over again with placebo studies, hypnosis studies and studies with the mind, that the mind is far more powerful than any drug, and we are aware of this, that we cannot accept. Is it linked to the fact that Western culture is based on logic, repeatability, and because of the security of that we fall back to it, almost like a security blanket?

I for one am going to try and experience life with the blanket, for at least a few minutes a day. I am going to let my mind have anything it wants, be and Olympic athlete, a scientific genius, a fantastic husband, at least for a few minutes a day, before I retreat back to the land of the secure and cuddly security blanket, and maybe bit, by bit I can limitless access to the magic of living limit free, perhaps the more I practice the more I will learn form practice.

So today I am going to believe all those studies that show that coffee is good for me, just for a few minutes, before the years of limiting belief cloud my life.

April 7 March – Reflection

The Reality I was unsure if people care enough to make an effort. I planned to join the April 7 March to Save South Africa from the Cape Town Town Hall to Parliament the next day. Arriving in town we could see things were different. We walked past the Market in St Georges mall and saw almost no one there.  As we carried on walking towards the Grand Parade we heard first the motorbikes, then the people. Even though it was not yet noon, the crowd that had gathered was substantial, a lot more than the legal limit of 8,000. I looked up the street and then realized that the crowd was very large, my insecurity that no one cared enough to make an effort seemed like a joke. After some politically charged messages we started a slow march towards Parliament via Buitenkant. It was a slow march with some politically charged chanting – but was peaceful. When we got close to parliament as we could I realized there were a lot of people there.  Pers...

Balance

Category: Ponderous When ever you talk to "life coaches" they talk about balance. What is balance, well it is there way of saying spend more time on personal things. That is not balance that is spending more time on personal things. Balance is what people tell you to get, when you are spending too much time trying to ensure that each day when the bills come you do not have a panic attack. So let's say you decide to take some personal time – get more balance in your life. Your read the secret you have the vision you write the goals, you project your positive thinking, and you believe in attaining the goals you have set. The question is what then. Balance implies there is a fulcrum and, and to much of any time on the one side of the fulcrum, is going to tip in other way, surely believing in balance is in itself a limiting belief. What you need to strive for is a pie chart of your time spent the way that is most beneficial to you as a person. The real limit we have is time (...
